Very typical of Ganado motifs are central medallions, embellished with small hooks. Also distinctive of Ganado designs are the little stepped hourglasses, which, in this specimen, are used in diamonds, flanking the two large, central medallions. The overall verticality of the rug with the central medallions running down the center of the rug are characteristic of this particular genre of Ganado weavings.
