Tibetan Cultural Exhibition Kicks off at Hunan Provincial Museum
A Tibetan cultural exhibition named “Mysterious Tibet Bathed in Buddha’s Light” was open to the public on the third floor of New Exhibition Building at Hunan Provincial Museum on December 28, 2011.
The opening ceremony was hosted by Liu Xiaobao, the deputy director of Hunan Provincial Museum and attended by You Zhenqun, deputy secretary of our museum and leaders from other related organizations.
The exhibits consist of exquisite Thangka paintings, religious instruments and statues of Buddha contributed by 10 celebrated monasteries and museums including Tibet Museum, the Potala Palace, the Norbulingka, the Cultural Palace for Nationalities, etc. A total of 130 pieces/sets of items are to be displayed on the exhibition, including more than 40 pieces/sets objects that ranked as the first-grade cultural relics in China.
The exhibition hall is divided into 3 themes which will be showcased in different showrooms, ranging from Religious Belief, Unity of Ethnic Groups to Tibetan Snowy Scenery. It will provide a concentrated reflection of the cultural, historical, religious and artistic life of Tibetan people.
