Representatives attended the 2009 Annual Meeting of Regional Museum Committee of Chinese Society of Museums

The 2009 Annual meeting of Regional Museum Committee of Chinese Society of Museums, which was held in December from 19th to 20th, 2009 in Hangzhou, attracted more than 70 representatives from museums and related cultural units across the country. As secretariat of Regional Museum Committee, our museum was in charge of preparing, organizing and coordinating meeting. Mr. Chen Jian-ming, who is deputy chairman and secretary-general of the Committee, and director of Hunan Provincial Museum, attended the meeting on behalf of our museum. Huang Lei, director of the department of Museology Institute in our museum, and Li Yan, secretary of Committee of Hunan Museums, have taken part in the preparation of the meeting. 

2009 Annual meeting of Regional Museum Committee of Chinese Society of Museums

On the afternoon and evening of December 19th, 2008-2009 Committee Work Report, Committee Work Plan for 2010, and The Preliminary Work Program for ICOM 2010 Meeting in Shanghai addressed by Mr. Chen on behalf of the secretariat of Regional Museum Committee were discussed and adopted. The date, places, organizer unit and other matters concerning the 2010 annual meeting were also discussed and confirmed on the meeting.

Hangzhou Forum of Regional Museum Committee of Chinese Society of Museums

On the afternoon of December 20th, the Hangzhou Forum of Regional Museum Committee was held with the theme “Basic Display of Regional Museums” under the direction of Mr. Chen Jian-ming, director of Hunan Provincial Museum, and Mr. Chen Hao, deputy director of Zhejiang Provincial Museum. Mr. Han Yong, the chairman of Regional Museum Committee, Mr. An Lai-shun, secretary-general of Chinese Society of Museums, and Mr. Chen Guan-zhong, deputy director of Zhejiang Provincial Bureau of Cultural Relics attended the forum and delivered opening addresses. Main speeches were delivered by representatives from Zhejiang Provincial Museum, Tianjin Museum, Liaoning Provincial Museum, Henan Museum, Hainan Provincial Museum, Shaanxi History Museum, and China Three Gorges Museum in Chongqing. Apart from heated discussions, representatives also attended the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Zhejiang Provincial Museum and the opening ceremony of exhibition hall at Wulin area.
