Hunan Museum Director Duan Xiaoming Delivered Keynote Speech at 2025 Cross-Strait Exchange on Integration of Traditional Chinese and Modern Cultures

On March 26, the 2025 Cross-Strait Exchange on Integration of Traditional Chinese and Modern Cultures with the theme of “Tradition Inspired, Future Driven” commenced in Hunan. Attendees included Long Mingbiao, Executive Vice President of the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS), Sui Zhongcheng, Member of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee, and Liu Zhaoxuan, Chairman of the Chinese Culture Everlasting Development Foundation.
During the opening ceremony, four experts and scholars from both sides of the Strait delivered keynote speeches on topics such as cross-Strait museum cultures and cultural integration. Duan Xiaoming, Party Secretary and Director of the Hunan Museum, presented a report titled “Roles of Museums in Cultural Exchange and Civilizational Inheritance: Preservation and Innovation—A Case Study of Hunan Museum.” He shared the museum’s explorations and practices in preserving and innovating traditional culture.

Additionally, Hunan Museum’s cultural and creative products were featured in the on-site exhibition of intangible cultural heritage, drawing significant attention from attendees. In the afternoon, the delegation visited the Hunan Museum and the Mango Future Art Center of Hunan Broadcasting System and gained deeper insights into Hunan’s innovative approaches to integrating traditional culture with science and technology.
