Family-Activity-Day on “A Journey into Italy” Held in Hunan Provincial Museum

On the morning of December 11, combined with the current special exhibition of “From the Collections of Uffizi Gallery-- The Genres of Painting-Landscape, Still Life & Portrait Paintings”, a Family-Activity-Day on the theme of “A Journey into Italy” was held in our museum, with over 20 families participating in.

Through the "lightning round", an elaborately designed interaction part, kids were imparted the knowledge about the customs and traditions of Italy. Led by a docent, these lovely kids enjoyed a pleasant tour around the exhibition rooms, feasting their eyes on those extraordinary paintings. Many amazing and subtle beauties had been found out through the kids’ observant and curious eyes. At last, with inspirations from the portraits, colorful pencils and lively imagination, children created their own Baroque style dresses for the Maria de Medici, the queen of France.

This activity day, integrated the knowledge of western paintings and customs of Italy into the cheerful games, is favorably reviewed by both kids and parents. More fun activities around this exhibition are coming. Let’s wait for the next wonderful experience!
