From March 14 to 21, Jin Fan, Deputy Director of the Hunan Museum, and Liu Hezi, Director of the Security Management Department, visited New York and Chicago to participate in activities related to the “Pritzker China-US Museum Leadership Dialogue and Exchange Program,” jointly organized by the Chinese Museums Association and the Pritzker Art Collaborative.

During the “China-US Museum Leadership Roundtable” held at Columbia University in New York, Jin Fan shared the Hunan Museum’s experiences in academic research and international exhibitions under the theme of “Chinese Museums in the Age of Globalization: Cooperation and Exchange”.

At the Pritzker China-US Museum Leadership Forum held at the Field Museum in Chicago, Jin Fan presented on the theme of “AI, the New Digital Age: Reshaping the Future of Museums”, sharing the Hunan Museum’s progress in digitization, academic achievements, and practical case studies.

In November 2024, Liu Shuguang, chairman of the Chinese Museums Association, and David Pritzker, director of the Pritzker Art Collaborative, reached a consensus to promote joint talent development and academic collaboration through initiatives such as the “Tengbo Scholars Visiting Program.” This event marks the extension of long-term interactions between China and the US in the museum field. Against the backdrop of globalization, exchanges between museums of the two countries will undoubtedly contribute museum wisdom to fostering mutual learning among civilizations and building a community with a shared future for mankind. Additionally, the event is the first program co-hosted by the Chinese Museums Association and the Pritzker Art Collaborative under the Memorandum of Understanding on Developing Museum Cooperation signed by the two parties. Moving forward, both sides will continue to improve institutional cooperation mechanisms and leverage cultural exchanges as an opportunity to advance deeper and multi-level exchanges and collaborations in the cultural sector between China and the US.
