Changsha Citizens Enjoy the Lantern day in Hunan Provincial Museum

Children are making the Tangyuan.

Red Net   “Family Day” activities held by Hunan Provincial Museum and Xiaoxiang Morning Post started on Feb 28, 2010. Within the theme of “Enjoying the Lantern Day”, families with children can take part in the activities of guessing the lantern riddle (Chinese traditional activity on the Lantern Day, people can guess the riddle hung under the lantern), having the delicious Tangyuan (glutinous rice ball, Chinese traditional food ate in the Lantern Festival), as well as obtaining the gifts by competing to answer the questions.

In the section of making Tangyuan, the family Tang Zi-lun got the prize on “Family of Best Corporation”. 6-year-old participant Lu Xiao-yu lost her prize for her imperfect partnership with her mother, although she finished 4 different sizes of Tangyuan.

In order to explore parents’ and children’s understanding on Chinese traditional civilization, the “Family Day” activities sponsored and held by Hunan Provincial Museum and Xiaoxiang Morning Post will also be held in other Chinese traditional days (Qingming Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Double-Seventh Day, Mid-autumn Festival, Chong Yang Festival).
