Cultural Relics from the Mawangdui Tombs
The excavation of the Han tombs at Mawangdui, with its yield of more than 3000 unrivaled treasures, ranks among the greatest archaeological discoveries of the 20th century.
Bronzes
Hunan province is one of the area discovered Southern China’s buried bronzes of the Shang and Zhou Dynasties. Bronzes of the Shang and Zhou Dynasties collected by our museum not only have large amount on quantity, but also possess many precious treasures in Chinese treasury of bronze.
Porcelains
The ceramics industry in Hunan has a long history and has obtained a unique position in its own right. Our museum has many precious collection of ceramic, especially Yue zhou kiln and Changsha kiln in Tang Dynasty as our characteristic. These collections will let you appreciate the verve and fineness of Hunan porcelain.
Calligraphies in the Ming and Qing Dynasty
Calligraphy in China is an old and unique traditional art. The multiplex styles developed in Ming and Qing Dynasty made the Chinese calligraphy a shining pearl among the world art treasure. There are a large number of collections of calligraphy of the Ming and Qing Dynasties in our museum.
Paintings Created in the Ming and Qing Dynasties
Based on inheriting traditional style, the painting art of the Ming and the Qing Dynasties created its own characteristic in art style. The artistic conception of Chinese traditional paintings becomes more meaningful, profound and implicit. There is a large collection of paintings of the Ming and the Qing Dynasties in our museum.
National and Folk Arts
Hunan is a multinational area with a long history and has rich relics of folk arts. There is a large collection of folk art in our museum. From these fine works, you can see heir colorful charm.

Apart from above parts of collection, others like glasses, jade, golden and silver ware, sealing stamp, miscellaneous and so on are also have their features, even some of them are rare precious. You will be also convinced and shocked by their peculiar shape and excellent technology.
